Noon on Mercury

At noon on Mercure said the old star man
The sun stays still at perihel time,
For so the planets footly dance a span
The Sun seems to will to stay and shine.
I would stand still for you, surely
I’d walk through fire in heats I’d fry
At noon on the planet Mercury
I’d wait for you and not ask why.
But time does not have a stop,
You grow old in step with me,
And in Death’s dance we must hop
Growing so very old, so gracefully.
It is in heaven we must meet
And dance death dead with unshod feet.
