Poem in the Style of an Antique Translation

Meaning of the name “Nilges” (ní ěr gé sī) in Chinese: Buddhist Nun: accomplished, talented: unusual name

Ka Yan is patient with Fate!
She plays the dulcimer and one stringed lute
Singing sweetly of Mount Abora.
Her family name is unusual and unknown,
Yet she knows in her heart, a priori,
The coolness and sweetness of the emptiness of Jade.
She is patient and still,
And thinks no one ill
Bearing loving-kindness and good will.
I have myself seen her flying with the moon
In robes of crystal, in Autumn.
It is not Wong to have an unusual name!

“Bhikkhus, all is burning. And what is the all that is burning?”

“The eye is burning, forms are burning, eye-consciousness is burning, eye-contact is burning, also whatever is felt as pleasant or painful or neither-painful-nor-pleasant that arises with eye-contact for its indispensable condition, that too is burning. Burning with what? Burning with the fire of lust, with the fire of hate, with the fire of delusion. I say it is burning with birth, aging and death, with sorrows, with lamentations, with pains, with griefs, with despairs.”
